The villages around Medellin make great day or weekend trips, most notably Jardin and Santa Fe de Antioquia. Medellin itself has a lot to offer, one of the best collections of sculptures and paintings by Botero, or if you want to marvel at its rapid pace of change, the best examples are the innovative metro cable services which run up the mountains to nature reserves and urban neighbourhoods that live all over the mountainsides around the city.
The neighbourhoods of Poblado, Envigado and Sabanetta are a must-see for those who like to enjoy a night out dancing or to people watch.
